Small Private Exponent Partial Key-Exposure Attacks on Multiprime RSA
نویسنده
چکیده
Given knowledge of one or more of the primes in a multiprime RSA modulus we show that the private exponent can be recovered provided it is sufficiently small. In particular, we present a simple and efficient method that given v of the u primes dividing the modulus N recovers any private exponent d satisfying d < Nv/u− . When only one prime is known, this bound can be increased to approximately N 2) using Boneh & Durfee’s techniques for small private exponent attacks on RSA. We also present experimental data which shows that the attack becomes more costly with increasing number of primes in the modulus and increasing modulus sizes.

On the security of multi-prime RSA
In this work we collect the strongest known algebraic attacks on multi-prime RSA. These include factoring, small private exponent, small CRT exponent and partial key exposure attacks. Five of the attacks are new. A new variant of partial key exposure attacks is also introduced which applies only to multi-prime RSA with more than two primes.
متن کاملNew Partial Key Exposure Attacks on RSA Revisited
At CRYPTO 2003, Blömer and May presented new partial key exposure attacks against RSA. These were the first known polynomial-time partial key exposure attacks against RSA with public exponent e > N . Attacks for known most significant bits and known least significant bits were presented. In this work, we extend their attacks to multi-prime RSA. For r-prime RSA, these result in the first known p...
متن کاملShort Private Exponent Attacks on Fast Variants of RSA
In this report, we study the adaptation of existing attacks on short private exponent on fast variants of the well-known RSA public-key cryptosystem, namely the RSA Multiprime and the Takagi family cryptosystems. The first one consists in a variant whose modulus is made up with strictly more than two primes, which permits to quickly decipher or sign using the Chinese Remainder Theorem. The seco...
متن کاملPartial Key Exposure Attacks on RSA up to Full Size Exponents
We present several attacks on RSA that factor the modulus in polynomial time under the condition that a fraction of the most significant bits or least significant bits of the private exponent is available to the attacker. Our new attacks on RSA are the first attacks of this type that work up to full size public or private exponent.
متن کاملAn Attack on RSA Using LSBs of Multiples of the Prime Factors
Let N = pq be an RSA modulus with a public exponent e and a private exponent d. Wiener’s famous attack on RSA with d < N and its extension by Boneh and Durfee to d < N show that using a small d makes RSA completely insecure. However, for larger d, it is known that RSA can be broken in polynomial time under special conditions. For example, various partial key exposure attacks on RSA and some att...
